The wall went across this once busiest square of Europe.

Tourists used to go there to see the wall and to get on an observation platform, from which they could see the death strip and what was left of Hitler’s bunker.
Since the reunification, this former border area has developed to a

new city center.
On one side of the square you can find the

Sony

Center
built by Helmut John. The

Sony Center’s tent-like roof construction is supposed to remind people of
Mount Fuji
.
